Hooray for adultery!
Lanyan has never looked this happy the entire run of the drama so far!
I know, I love that Lanyan falling for Playboy basically reverses a lot of drama tropes - she didn't fall for him because he was hot or unobtainable or whatever. She fell for him because he treated her well and cared for her. I am not even talking big things like getting rid of her rapist/abuser or secretly buying all her cosmetics so she'd be able to get money to pay her bride-price back faster, but things like encouraging her or listening to her and treating her as a human being.
This drama also confirmed to me if I somehow got transported back in time, I am better off killing myself. Ugh, what a nasty time to live in.
Puppy Killer, the previous generation? Man, Playboy's mother is scary. Also, WTF is with the obsession with corporal punishment in this world? First, we have Ady An beaten by her creep of a husband and people who know (who, luckily for abuser, do not include Playboy) all view it as a matter of course. Next, Momster gets pissed at Playboy for making a bad business deal and beats him for it within an inch of his life. The guy has got to be in his later twenties if he's a day and he's a man to boot, not one of those "lesser beings" like women are supposed to be, and nobody blinks an eye? WTF. Of course, the reason Playboy makes that deal is because Puppy Killer tells him if he buys some bad merchandise from her she accidentally bought, she promises to leave Lanyan alone or else she might even kill her (ah, Puppy Killer, I sort of love you and your crazy). Awwww, Playboy. Especially since it was all before he knew Lanyan loved him.
The earthquake/love confession scene. Yes, their love is so epic and forbidden, the town litrally starts collapsing around them as they are about to confess their feelings. I confess I started laughing at that but I did dug the ensuing shippy scene with a big spoon (oh boy, it took her forever to realize she loves him! I bet because it's such a huge transgression.)
Bonus broody Playboy.
Oh, did I mention, at the end of ep 11, Lanyan brained her awful husband? He was trying to choke Playboy to death at the time (this drama is so trashy!) but either way, he got what was coming to him. Yay! They should just dump his body in the river now.
