Cdramas will claim all my money

I have just discovered that Fan Bing Bing and Wallace Huo did a pre-modern drama together called Red Snow where they play a star-crossed OTP - she's a woman married against her will and he's a butler in that household for secret reasons.

The MV looks very pretty:

Good girl! You didn't download the series and went for the more righteous action. =)

Righteous? Now I feel like a Yang :)

Joking aside, I do try to buy the DVDs whenever I can (if they are subbed, of course) because the more I support them, the more they will make them.

If I go to China, I'll sweep those boxes off the shelves...but then again, who knows if what they sell in stores are originals even? I don't dare to buy from China websites even...too dubious. XP

But yeah, I like buying too...it just feels...more proper (am a victim of government brainwash)...it's stupid but I sometimes watch a series online and then buy the dvd if I really like it. LOL.

Have fun with the angst!

Oh man, tell us if it's really worthed the heartache. =(

I like buying official dvds - it seems propr to 'reward' those who made them.

I buy mine through yesasia - they are pricy but reliable and official and have a lot of subbed stuff which I need :)

Did you get YWotYC from YesAsia too? Are the English subs switch-off-able? If so I'm so gonna get me a set.

I generally have good experience with YesAsia too, but once I ordered a drama set and when it came I was pretty sure it wasn't original (but it's an older drama so who knows if there's a real, official DVD release at all---I suspect more recent dramas are ok).

However, it's really hard to tell what's original and what's not---I've bought Chinese DVDs and CDs that have some kind of shiny official seal, but once you've opened the packaging it's completely obvious that it's a pirated version. On the other hand, some official releases are so crappily produced that they look like fakes. :(

I got YWotYC on-line but I plan to buy a dvd set from them so I researched it and yes, subs are removable.

I've bought some 'official' dvds in Melbourne once which turned out to be...not so.
