Subs are out, hooray! I don't have too many comments as I have already made most of them so it's just random observations.
1. I totally want Loan Shark and Cougar Noona to get together. This would be hilarious.
2. You know that intense scene in the beginning with Jin Gook and his father. All I could think of during it was "but he has no eyelashes!" How does that even work? He's a mammal! Seriously, it's freaky:
I mean, even JG is freaked out. Or it could have been the slapping (I am impressed shortie-short evil Dad can even reach JG's cheek but that's a separate matter), but I am going to go with the eyelash thing. It's unnatural!
3. And speaking of Evil Daddy I kinda love that this actor can create a whole steady career for himself by playing evil politician parents of illegitimate kids. Only in kdramas!
4. Hyemi is even more awesome with subs. Where do I start - from telling JG she is going to call the cops on his Dad (something many a kdrama can benefit from), to proceeding with fake showcase no matter what, to being so amused at Sam Dong telling his Mom she (HM) is obsessed with him. And speaking of, how adorable was that Sam Dong had no idea how to do a high-five?
5. I am beginning to doubt your heterosexuality, Jin Gook. I mean, pleather AND sequins AND feathers in the same outfit? Maybe you are trying to be a figure skater or maybe you are preparing yourself to be the newest exhibit in Baekhee's Bondage House of Pleasure, but either way, my eyes are yet to recover.
6. And speaking of my eyes, Baekhee, Cirque de Soleil called and they want their stuff back.
7. Listening to the lyrics, the duet Sam Dong and Hyemi sing really seems about Sam Dong's feelings for Hyemi, which is beyond adorable, considering he is supposed to have written it.
Also, if the drama choses to go SD/HM route, the lyrics sort of hint of the process. For the record, I think the drama is going to end up HM/JG - they are getting the standard kdrama OTP treatment, with childhood love on his side, disdain-slowly-changing-to-attraction (on her part), and now angst and misunderstandings. I am not saying they couldn't switch ships - see Queen of Reversals where secondary guy is basically stealing the drama and is going to get the girl (for the second time! Park Shi Hoo is basically kryptonite for leading men - if I were a leading man, I'd never let him get cast) but at least for now JG/HM looks like a safer bet.
8. Every time Baekhee calls Jin Gook 'Gook-ah' my skin crawls. I don't care if JG and Hyemi get together, but if he (or any other male character) end with Baekhee, I'll throw a fit. I was totally amused when after the performance he thanked her and told her that this helped him to figure out who he wants to be with and she is clearly thinking "OMG I am about to get a love confession" and he says "see you later" and walks off. Ahahahahahahahhaa. Her face. Baekhee, even if you weren't a backstabbing wannabe murderer, the guy has met you all of four times, in not particularly emotionally-important or earthshaking circumstances - surely thinking this is leading to undying love on his part is a little...odd.
