In which Dangermousie eats so much crow regarding Jang Geun Seok

To start with, I want to buy Mugyul a winter coat before I freeze just looking at him!

A few quickie thoughts about ep 4 (now fully subbed at midnights-dreams):

1. By now, I am so madly in love with Mugyul, it's not even funny. He is not my type in the least, either looks-wise (I love my guys macho) or personality-wise (I am more into reserved A-types not laid-back hippie musicians) but none of it matters. Any time he appears on screen I revert to a silly 15-yr-old self and start swooning like an idiot. All of you who have witnessed my past dislike of Jang Geun Seok and mockery of Mary before it aired are free to point fingers and laugh like hyenas. I don't care.

2. I continue to love all Mugyul and Mary/Mugyul scenes with unholy love but the rest of it continues to leave me cold - I don't care about the selfish, nasty "grown-ups", I like secondary girl well enough but have no interest in her outside of her scenes with Mugyul, and if ep 4 didn't make me interested in Jung In, I am a lost cause as far as Kim Jae Wook's character is concerned.

3. As regards Maeri, whenever I watch her with her father or Jung In's father, I just get rageful and switch screens. But that is not the funny part! Clearly I have become an unhealthily obsessed M&M shipper because my reaction at the end of ep 4 when Jung In did things like give her a piggyback ride was to grumble, and when he leaned in to kiss her scar was to literally cringe and go "badwrong" at the screen. The last time I got such a visceral "ugh ugh ugh do not want!" about an objectively romantic action by an OTP interloper was in Hanadan2 when Rui leaned in to kiss Makino in the hospital. DO NOT WANT. I literally got ragey. Take sane pills, Mousie, OK?

4. It's official, the reason I like M&M's interactions the best is because every other guy in Maeri's life is a giant douchebag. Her father sells her and manipulates her, Jung In's father is the creepiest creep who ever creeped (JI and Maeri should never hook up because otherwise Daddy will totally install a secret camera to watch them make out - he is sick), and Jung In tries to get her to dump the guy (he thinks) she loves and do all these shmoopy things not because he loves her but because he needs his father's financial support for business and is generally an obedient son (pssst, Daddy, if your son describes you are "generous but merciless", it's not praise). Mugyul is the only one who's not trying to push Maeri into anything or manipulate her, and he's a borderline-broke careless musician with a string of ex-girlfriends longer than the Nile, and a phobia of being emotionally vulnerable. When that is the most understanding/coolest/supportive person in your life, your life sucks.

5. I don't particularly care about mysterious (and I am sure very soapy) family drama (I only care about past family drama when it affects the OTP but this is clearly a Maeri/JI-related past stuff not a M&M one) but I keep hoping Jung In and Maeri are siblings. This would amuse me to no end. I am pretty sure they are not though, boo!

6. Due to their useless parents, Mugyul and Maeri both have trust issues a mile wide, but both are pretty mature and loyal. And they have totally started relying on each other not just for Maeri's charade - just look how Mugyul was looking forward to Maeri's call and grumbling she didn't.

7. My favorite scene in ep 4:

screencaps2, rabid shipping is good for the soul, tasty tasty crow, mary stayed out all night, doramas3
