Just finished ep 9 of Baker King. Mmmm, that drama is addictive.
In one corner we have Kim Tak Gu, Sexy Woobie Baker N1 - illegitimate son of conglomerate family, Tak Gu lost his mother and has been forced to live on the streets. Special skills include million-watt smile, strong fists, baking genius, optimism, looking good beaten-up, and being cuter than a puppy.
In the other corner, we have Gu Ma Jun, Sexy Woobie Baker N2 - the supposedly legitimate son of the same conglomerate family, Ma Jun is in reality the secret son of Mrs Conglomerate and her lover. His supposed father may not know of the fact but as he doesn't treat him with much interest, I am not sure the knowledge would make much of a difference. Special skills include ability to be sexily going to the dark side, baking knowledge, delicious smirk, intensity, cheekbones to die for and really really long legs.
So, who shall inherit the conglomerate? Pssst, it's neither.
This show is very very pretty cast.
I don't ship Ma Jun with Mi Sun (I prefer him with Yu Kyung - mmmm dysfunctional intensity and Mi Sun with Tak Gu - so much adorableness) but I rewatched this scene thrice. So fun. Guys, chill it, you are gonna be in-laws :P
Seriously, such an awesome puppy!
Once again, not a Tak Gu/Yu Kyung shipper but love their interactions. Here is he tracking her down after realizing she is his childhood friend.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Long legs.
Who I really ship are Ma Jun and Yu Kyung, because they have killer chemistry and because I can smell delicious dysfunction a mile away (and because, let's face it, I am a canon-shipper if the show is written halfway well and this certainly is). They do fit together because they are both complicated people with a dark streak while Tak Gu (despite his horrid life) and Mi Sun are not.
Evil Mama doesn't like her son staring at a poor poor woman. In your face, lady, you are looking at a future daughter-in-law. Heh.
Meanwhile secretary Han is getting ready to dismantle Tak Gu. You know, whatever happens at the end, I want that man to pay for all the awful things he's done.
This scene sealed my ship. Evil Mama basically humiliates and kicks Yu Kyung out of the party and as she is walking out, Ma Jun is there and the conversation is a little barbed from the start - he is sort of picking at her a little (he is asking her if she is that pissed off why did she just walk out meekly) but the tables turn when she tells him she didn't come to see him (they have a childhood connection too, long story) but his brother Tak Gu, who was better than he always and whom he could never beat. Mmmmm. That's how I like my ships.
I sort of melted at this.
Future delicious triangle:
Mmmm, Baker King, continue with your bread of goodness.
