We get the awesomeness that is the first ep of Natsu No Koi wa Nijiro ni Kagayauku, Matsumoto Jun and Takeuchi Yuko's new drama (in the interests of sanity I shall refer to it as Natsu no Koi from now on).
I have just watched the first ep and I really liked it. He is a 26-yr-old second generation actor, overshadowed by his famous father, picky, neurotic, a bit self-absorbed. She is a 30-yr-old single mother, impulsive, decisive, a huge fan of his father.
He falls in love at first sight. She views him as a nut. There is hilariousness and a bit of angst and some lovely romantic chemistry.
Someone has been eating his wheaties (what would the Japanese equivalent be, natto?). I literally started laughing when this scene popped in at about one-minute mark.
I am getting Domyouji flashbacks. Heeeee.
Check out the face on that woman behind him.
Giggle giggle giggle giggle.
Top Gun Japanese-style.
Except his parachute screws up and he ends up tangled in a tree. That's one way to meet your OTP. I giggled through this entire scene. He is smitten from the first moment though.
Aahahahahahaha
That is how she is checking whether he is dead.
He has a somewhat complicated relationship with his family, which isn't helped by their bizarre practical jokes. "Heeee, you thought your father was dead? Surprise!"
He tracks her down to find her crying on the beach. If you give her a terminal illness, drama, we are done.
Clearly she is swooning at your manliness, Taiga!
Oh smitten little puppy, I believe this is your attempt at smooth, God help us.
Matsujun does such an awesome "I am so smitten I cannot breathe" face. Mmmmmmm.
Clearly, he has a thing for bossy women :P
Did I mention his father really did die for real shortly after the prank? Practical jokes like that are clearly bad luck.
He makes a move:
And gets punched out:
That's one thing to come to. A small child is judging you. For trying to hit on her mother.
Oh, he is hopeless!
I am in love with this drama so far. Please remain good and compensate for a horrid spring jdrama season.
In addition to Stormy Subs, viikii has it subbed and I know other subbing groups picked it up.
sisterjune, I'll pm you.
