One Tree Hill horror continues

I am on episode 12 (or is it 13, they kind of blend together).

These characters are more and more cardboard by the second. Characters don't have to be realistic (come on, early seasons Buffy? She'd never be that well-adjusted in that job), but they have to be interesting, and consistent and three-dimentional (again, Buffy).

I really want Logan to show up and set a fire to the town. So much more satisfactory than a community pool, and it will also burn better because the characters are all made out of wood. Or maybe Spike could have a really good (if bland) meal of the residents?

Also, Luke? Started out rather nice even if utterly flat. Now the nice is gone, but there is no snark (unless no willpower=snark) and the flatness is the only thing that's left. I live in fear of what happens if he stands sideways. He'll dissapear!

This isn't even that fun in the trashy soapy sense because it's all so molasses slow. By now, about the only characters I don't want to attack with a hatchet are Nathan (how ironic, he started out as the one I wanted to brain) and Haley. They actually make a cute sweet teen soap couple. Completely unrealistic and not too complicated but at least my inner 10-year old is awwwwing at the schmoopiness because they are so young about it, and the whole geeky girl and jocky boy who is actually nice is a popular stereotype for a reason :)

winterspel told me that last year, OTH used to beat Veronica Mars in the ratings. I shall never understand. VM has real people: interesting, unpredictable, intelligent. Granted, there is no CMM sans clothes in every episode, but I'd rather have Logan in an overcoat and a hat dispensing snark than CMM unemoting starkers.

Of course, as my icon shows, you can certainly have best of both worlds!
