So, I finished Yamanade Nadeshiko Shichi Henge a.k.a. Wallflower jdrama.
Wallflower was a drama where I am faintly surprised I kept watching and finished it - I enjoyed each ep as I watched but the moment I finished, I promptly forgot about it. And yet, next week, there I would be watching the next ep. Because it was usually out on the weekend it probably helped - shockingly, it's the first currently-airing jdrama I finished in a year.
It wasn't a masterpiece - there was nothing emotionally meaningful or sparklingly clever. But it was a fun, wacky (but not too wacky) way to pass 40 or so minutes pleasantly.
They watered Sunako down from the manga but she was still cool. I was impressed by how much Gothy, off-kilter vibe of the manga they kept. And shocked beyond measure they managed to cram the other three boys' OTPs into it (they all exist in the manga but I was sure there'd be no time).
I still boggle at the concept of Kame as gorgeous, let alone gorgeous enough to cause mass riots (even among the 4 I thought both Takenaga and Ranmaru were better-looking) but he did a good job with the role.
Ehhh, it's not going on a favorites list or anything but I actually finished it, which is impressive in and of itself.
