OMG! The Hong Sisters have just confirmed their next drama and the rumors were true: their next is a tongue-in-cheek take on the Nine-Tailed Fox legend (a sort of Korean equivalent to a vampire - these foxes are supernatural beings that pass for humans and eat human livers) to be called My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed FoxThere is not enough SQUEE. I just read this news and got very excited. I've enjoyed/loved every Hong sister drama. They do romantic fluff/comedy well. And, their melodrama is always good, if not somewhat overly done at times.

I'm happy to see Lee Seug Ki again. I'm looking forward to the casting news of the female lead. I doubt it will be Lee Yeen Hee though. She's scheduled to be one of the secondary leads in Paradise Ranch You know, that drama with all that unattractive boybander Max ChangMin, Joo Sang Wook (Queen Seon Duk and That Fool), and Yoo Ha Na (My Lucky Star and Sons of Sol Pharmacy). It airs in late March/ early April. I doubt she could do both.

Dramawiki has Sandara Park listed as a cast member. Possibly female lead? Though, that may be purely based on rumors. She's 25 and may be too old if they want someone whose 20-23ish. I looked her up - she had a small role in The Return of Iljimae and done some film work. But, she seems to mostly be a singer/dancer/model. Mmm...we shall see.

Oh, interesting. Maybe LYH could get out of the drama. It seems that Paradise Ranch was supposed to air in 2009, but was put on hold so Max ChangMin could take an acting course. Plus, his group, or rather some of its members, were in some kind of law suit.

However, I've heard nothing about this drama and it is supposed to air this month or next. I wonder if it is still delayed. If so, I kind of hope both Lee Yeen Hee and Yoo Ha Na get out of it and find other projects - they are too talented to be love interests for some singer that may or may not be able to act.

*sigh* Watch, I eat my words in a few weeks.

I have no idea how one goes from leading lady of super-smash EoE to secondary girl in a boybander nonsense. Ugh.

I hope that drama dies a swift swift death.

Aw. Well, she might not be the secondary. I looked up the drama, to figure out what it's about, and apparently Yoo Ha Na as a love thing with the boybander. But, Lee Yeen Hee is in love with boybander and the other guy is in love with Lee Yeen Hee. It sounds a bit like a love square.

I think it's odd because Lee Yeen Hee should be in leading lady status now. She's come off being the fifth major player in EoE and her storyline was popular. She should be the leading lady. Yoo Ha Na has been in two Sat/Sun dramas that were hugely popular and was supporting in one and a major player in the other. . .both these talented ladies should not be slumming in a boybander vehicle.

This sounds like it is going to be another comedy drama - yes please Hong sisters, just don't end it as "Hong Gil Dong", OK?? But no! You are saying angst? For me , Hong sisters don't do angst or melodrama very well (overdone at best). I might just skip this one altogether, I don't want to be a Grinch.

BUT mainly! Lee Seung Gi is one of rare Korean actors who does nothing for me, nothing. He is not even remotely attractive to my eyes, he looks 11 (my daughters age so here I must draw the line :D) and I am not impressed by his acting too much (but he is not too bad at acting, just not good).

See, I prefer their angsty stuff (even in My Girl and Chunhyang the angst parts were my favorite - I am just an emo melo junkie, I guess).

I don't find LSG attractive either but I liked him as a character of Hwan in BL - there is a large number of actors that fit that. Anyone under 25, really - Jang Geun Seok, Jung Il Woo, even Lee Min Ho - I like them in dramas but they are all too young for me to drool over. He falls in the same bucket.

Aww I like Lee Seung Ki (thanks to Brilliant Legacy) and I think he'll do good in a comedic role (the guy is supposed to be a fool). His emotional scenes are a bit. . .iffy (I kind of cringed during his breakdown scenes) but he's good at playing silly and goofy.

The plot intrigues only because it's something that's not normally done in k-dramas. All depends on the female lead now.

I have a number of actresses I hope they DON'T cast but I don't have anyone I really want. The only younger set actresses I really like are Go Ara and Seo Woo and Lee Yeon Hee and I don't think it will be any of them.

As long as the curse of Yoona doesn't strike this drama, I'll be OK.

Yes it is, I really like it. I have been splitting my time between KDrama and product from Tiwan, HK and Mainland. Just finished Lotus Lantern, which was very good and had some real conflicted characters, one of which happend to be a fox fairy played by Shu Chang (Boy is she pretty)
