Thank you so freaking much, Daisy.
Now I am sitting here bawling.
I have wanted to check out Daisy, a 2006 movie with Jeon Ji Hyun, Jung Woo Sung, and Lee Sung Jae, after I had found out that Jung Woo Sung has been cast in Athena.
Firstly, because people kept mentioning it all over the place, but secondly because I knew JWS played an assassin insanely devoted to his OTP in it and I wanted to see how he'd be like in an IRIS-type environment.
WELL.
WELL.
I thought I told you, TPTB, not to cast as a lead someone who can make me bawl as much Lee Byung Hun did. I thought we had a deal?
Not fair, I foresee bawling all over again if they go for IRIS-levels of angst with JWS in the lead.
Anyway, Daisy is made by the man who made Infernal Affairs so you can expect the same levels of cheeriness. The story centers around a sheltered painter who lives in Amsterdam (Jeon Ji Hyun). Every day at the same time she recieves a present of daisies from a secret admirer. Little does she know that the admirer is a mob hitman in hiding (Jung Woo Sung) who has fallen in love seeing her paint. Enter an Interpol agent (Lee Sung Jae) on the trail of the hitman, and whom the heroine mistakes for her admirer...
The movie is gorgeously shot, well-acted, super-romantic and made me freaking bawl my head off. I loved it to bits. I was also happy to see that JWS looks perfect angsting, with a gun, full of revenge, madly in love, or with the love of his life pointing a gun at him. He is going to do just fine :P
Now I want to track down the longer Hong Kong cut (the one I had was the international one).
It was so good!
Is it unhealthy to be obsessed with a drama 10 months before it airs? If it is, I don't care at all.
ETA: Have a shippy IRIS mv. I think it's official - Hyun Joon and Seung Hee are my biggest ever drama OTP. I thought my obsession would them would cool but it's been over 2 months since the drama was over and nope - am still fixated.
