If you want to check out the plot of Tamra the Island for yourself, dramabeans recapped the first ep. She liked it, which - well, somebody must, after all and our tastes are polar opposite so...still. Someone liked Tamra. Wow. (From what I have seen, Tamra might be in the running for the worst drama I have EVER come across. God).
In polar opposite spectrum news, Friend couldn't be better if it tried.
This was one of the most amazingly filmed scenes I have ever seen in a kdrama - it's the death of the main character, intercut with the other main character dwelling on it - the latter may or may not have planned the hit. It's amazing (Friend is a non-linear story so we see this early in ep 2, so I am not spoiling it for anyone).
I loved the cuts between the shower (it is as if Kim Min Joon is washing away his sins) and the rain in which Hyun Bin is dying - just as KMJ is in a safe controlled environment, rain is a sort of 'wild' version of that - no control or safety. Just as Hyun Bin is slumping in death while KMJ is slumping in psychic defeat.
Have a bonus Seo Do Young:
And a happier day for Hyun Bin, where rain was shelter and not death:
This is, without doubt, the most gorgeous drama I have ever seen. Also, everyone in it seems to suffer so much from isolation even when they supposedly bond...
