Stay Classy, Dream!

Indeed.

I don't think I have ever seen drama fanservice this blatant.

Episode 2 of Dream (which I am halfway into) confirms my previous opinion - Dream is not a great drama. Nor is it a classy one - it is clearly pretty trashy. However, if you define "good" drama as drama that can keep you entertained, than Dream is definitely good - I have a notoriously short attention span but Dream managed to keep me very entertained so far. I haven't fast-forwarded at all, which is pretty impressive - many much better dramas fail to do that.

I really love this shot - very pretty:

JJM continues to be both very good and very handsome, though I can't help but feel he is rather slumming to be in this. Despite my cracks about ample shirtlessness, the thing that really makes Dream immensely watchable is him - he's got insane intensity at the best of times and it's put to good use here.

Of course, the amount of fanservice involving him makes me lol and lol. Here he is, wet and playing with a dog:

Here he is being dumped by his girlfriend because he is a nobody now - she stuffs money into his pocket. (Hon, it's JJM - there would be a LOT of ladies who'd be willing to take him even though he's penniless. Heck, plenty would take him even if he was a kleptomaniac who set dumpsters on fire).

This leads to more deept and meaningful plot (Allow me to digress - the drama seems to indicate he doesn't have much money now that he is fired - is he the biggest spendthrift in the Universe or are we in bizarro world - he was a very senior sports agent for YEARS, and the company paid for his car and apartment - and he didn't have anything saved up? WTF!):

I was incredibly amused by the show girl's reaction to Kim Bum. She might be a secret soompier :P

There is a long, pointless montage of "Flower Fighters" (I kid you not) in the middle of all this. At that point I just gave up and loled and loled and loled. I wanted to ask the drama makers "have you no shame?" but what is the point as the answer is obvious.

This is from later in the ep (I think he has a sick mother?) I have to say, I liked that his former clients told him to fuck off - he was a bastard to them and so why should they care about his downfall - but I do like the way the drama is slowly humanizing him.

I think he is being made to sing karaoke to humiliate him? Haven't gotten to that point yet, but right afterwards there IS a glorious bit of Kim Bum punching somebody out.
