Seriously, though, I know you don't fast forward but if ever a drama was made for a ff button EoE is it - since it's so long it has a cast of thousands and I don't care for most of them - the only ones I adore is anything to do with Dong Chul, DC/YR, Dong Wook (but not in later parts), and the adorable but deeply secondary ship of DC's little sis and another mobster. The rest is total ff territory IMO. But when it's good, it's so very good. The first half of the drama is better than the second half (the set-up is awesome but the final execution falls through) but if there is one thing that remains consistently wonderful throughout it's DC/Young Ran.
Part 2 will cover the rest - I just need to get the caps for it (I had caps for eps 1-24 and even then it took me ages to pull together) :P
As I said above, 56 eps is long and there are parts I found incredibly draggy (anything with Lee Da Hae and family, or construction stuff, or the villain past a certain point etc) and there is some stuff that irritated me (the resolution with the first love of DC's brother or brother's last minute character change and then change back) but when it's good it's so good - all the mob stuff, Dong Chul, Young Ean, early Dong Wook (DC's brother), the early very dark triangle between DW, his first love and villain's son etc. fast forward was invented for this drama.
I will post you the most epic fangirly comment as soon as I read Part 2. Because you know what. THIS IS HOW MUCH OF THIS SHOW I WATCHED (okay, I lied, I watched it till DongChul visits YoungRan at the hospital) before I went, "Holy shit. If all this happens and she STILL DOES NOT END UP WITH HIM, fuck this.")
You know what is scary - you are my EoE twin! That is exactly how much I watched (asylum weeping) and then I gave up because I got too invested in the ship and I could not believe that after portraying them as so ridiculously epic they were going to have him fall for Lee Da Hae - I mean, how on earth would anything he have with her compare to all the star-crossed stuff with Youngran. It would always come across as second-best (the same was true of Lee Da Hae and Dong Wook - even if that ended up working out and he returned her feelings, what he felt and did for Ji Hyun was so enormous, nothing between them could ever compare

also, I got a Jang Hyuk icon! Which, given that I only have a choice of 15 at a time, is pretty epic. *points*
