Some people are horrible
I remember reading about this a long time ago and feeling so wonderful that people like this were out in the world (it's an article about a wealthy couple who, in addition to their own biolgical children, adopted over a dozen kids, many of them with developmental disabilities or who have been abused).
Well. According to CNN, the couple has been found murdered, victims of a home invasion.
I keep thinking about how awful this is - that people who were so wonderful were killed, senselessly. And about what will happen to these children - there is no rush of people who want to adopt a child with Down's not to mention the thought of some of these kids, who have been previously abused, ending up in foster care? And losing their parents and their normal life all over again. GOD. How horrible! I hope the people who killed them rot forever in jail. Or, if you are like me, and believe in death penalty, end up with that as their punishment.
