Fashion 70s (and a bit on PJMG)

This just might be the coolest intro scene for a kdrama character ever :) Mmmmm.
I am on ep 6 of Fashion 70s and love it so much!
I love all the four main characters:
* Duh Mi, who can be so joyful and free because she has forgotten the traumas of war literally (it's sort of like Nagase's character in Utahime - it's only the lack of memory that makes a person so free when past is so horrible). She is adorable! No wonder Dong Young likes her (though not that way yet) - she is like a ray of sunshine. But of course when she dreams it's the nightmares from her past (I love that scene in the rain when Dong-Young is staying over!)
* Joon Hee is going to be the tragic one in this, isn't she? She is rich and loved but unlike Duh Mi, she doesn't have the luxury of forgetting either the horrors of wartime or the fact that her mother left her. Not to mention it must be psychically scarring to live your whole life being forced to put on a mantle of someone else, someone dead and to know that your 'father' sees you as a substitute.
* So far, I stand by my opinion that this is a show about women all the way, but I like Dong Young so far - he just radiates niceness (which makes sense, compared to the other three, he's had a much easier time of it - no horrific wartime trauma, no lack of warmth in family. His father loves him). I must be one of ten women on the planet who doesn't find Joo Jin Mo good-looking (in fact I find him rather plain) but I don't care here at all just because I really like his character - his manner and charisma win the day.
* Speaking of looks - whoa, Jang Bin! I haven't seen as much of him yet but what I did is both COOL and HOT.
I love the secondary characters in this too - Duh Mi's "mother", a woman who has to deal with some really hard choices, the brittle Bong Sil, Bin's distant strong-willed mother etc etc.
This is SO GOOD.
I don't really have ships yet, but I lean toward Duh Mi/Dong Young. They are adorable together...
darkeyedwolf this is so your thing btw - it has tons of awesome women, a lot of angst, guns, and men who think naked and wet is a fashion statement.
