Yeah, this fall lineup is insane! I think it's solely because someone out there wants to see how sleepdeprived I can still get. XD Not much I'd say.... I'm still awake as I was roundin' up the last episodes of Lawyers. I had no expectations for it so it's sort of strange how much I ended up liking this drama. I've yet to watch the last epi but somehow I've got the feeling it won't dissapoint. Besides, I'm reeeally intersted to see how they finnish it off with ep 15 ending the way it did.
I'm picking up Kindom of the Winds next. There - I've decided! *g*
Well, I know I'll be watching Tazza too as soon as the subs are out. Sigh.
Yeah, Lawyers is rather neat and has my kind of OTP. They are so sweetly goofy together. I even like The Other Guy and Gal.... and all the scondary characters. Hmmm... I think I've developed a 'thing' for Lee Sung Jae.... dang.
I watched the third epiode of True Blood and it make me even more curious what you would think of it. Because the OTP is written in a very deliberate OTP way (you have the stereotypical "He announces that she is his fleshie so the evil vampire pack can't touch her" scene for example) while also trying to keep with the tone of the show.
(I was actually more reminded of a tv version of some of those torture romance novels; I think you recently reviewed a book of it)
I still have no clue whether you would like them, but I'd be really curious to see whether they have chemistry by your defintion or not. [they don't make me swoon with them the way for example Mick and Beth did, but it's kinda interesting for me to watch from a technical writing POV how they intend to achieve what they want to achieve]
BTW, I lean towards you not liking them because the show can still be seen as too wanna-be cool and since it is a HBO show my guess is that on the long run they won't be able to resist having them sleep with their various other suitor character/won't be able to keep the OTP clean. But so far I'm surprised at how OTP-y it feels and how much deliberate work they seem to put into it.
I haven't read the books, only the wikipedia summaries :) So, in the books, who did you like for her? The vampire, the other vampire or the werewolf? ;D Or did you not like them for the romance at all?
It's strange because so far the show feels very OTPy.
I'm torn of whether I should be annoyed at the faux grittiness, love the way they are really playing out one of the typical vampire romance clichee scenes or just enjoy the humor. (at the moment I like the show mostly for the humor; Even if they seem to rely a lot on the idea that Southern people and Southern accents are inherently funny)

I gave East of Eden four eps and they were still on the backstory. *tears at hair* There is a limit to my devotion to the pretty.

EoE is 50 eps long - they have to stretch it out :) Plus, they have finished with it now and we get things like this:
