I have finally watched episodes 5 and 6 of S4 of Battlestar Galactica. Oh boy, were they a heavy going. I really don't care for S4 at all so far. Probably because the number of characters I don't want to airlock is steadily dwindling (current number? Limited to Helo, Athena, Tigh, and Gaeta. And Adama and Roslin, though the mystical babble in Roslin's storyline is making me so antsy, and though ocassionally they have been two characters I havw wanted to strangle.) I've got to loathe Kara to a degree I am longing for her to be written out (and I used to love her), I am glad Lee wasn't in this ep because lately he has been driving me up the wall, I loathe the stupid Baltar=Jesus storyline (and what is Tyrol doing being drawn into it?), Tory should be airlocked, and even Anders, whom I generally like, made me want to shoot him in ep 6, what with the bizarre, unremorseful and useless shooting of Gaeta. WTF? But it's mainly Kara rage. She can go to hell any way she prefers, but her complete lack of interest and total disregard for anyone in her orbit whom she can endanger, combined with her 'I know best' attitude is awful. I wouldn't follow a headcase like her across the road, let alone on a quest to Earth.
Also, is it me, or are Helo and Gaeta (and ironically Athena) the only military characters who treat it as a military organization, with orders and rules, and not some bizarre 'I do whatever' club? WTF?
On the plus side:
How do I love that the Human/Cylon, started-out-as-an-experiment ship is the most normal and healthy relationship on the show? Guuuh, I love them.
Seriously, I liked S1-3 but S4 needs to get back on track.
