I. Note to self: Do not read 100% Perfect Girl manhwa while using public transport. You never know when you are going to come across a full-page panel of Jarte (our hero) taking a shower, while you are sitting next to an elderly grandpa. Purely a hypothetical, of course :D
II. Because I am planning a Fushigi Yuugi rewatch, here is a cool (Miaka/Tamahome-centric) vid.
It's funny, but even after all the anime I've watched since, two of my earliest anime, Trigun and Fushigi Yuugi, remain my number 1 and number 2 favorite animes, respectively. (Ouran High School Host Club snuck in at number 3, though I think a rewatch of Peacemaker might change that).
III. Fangirls. How you amuse me. This said, here are reasons drama fans sometimes creep me the hell out
1. There are people in Capital Scandal thread RPShipping Kang Ji Hwan and Han Ji Min (the stars of CS), saying things like ‘maybe they are secretly a couple so that’s why they have been acting in dramas with co-stars wo are taken.’ Whaaaaa?
2. There are people already RPShipping the leads in Powerful Opponents. Apparently on the basis of nothing else but the fact that he is cute and so is she. And by RPShipping, I don’t mean writing fic and clearly knowing this is fantasy, no, genuinely wanting them to hook up in RL.
3. Kdrama star Song Il-Gook recently got married. His wife is not a celebrity so he has been very careful not to release her pics to the media, I assume to protect her privacy. Media was excluded from the wedding and any wedding pics released have her face blurred. Apparently this means he ‘has abandoned his fans’ because he owes it to them to show them what his wife looks like because it’s not fair! They, the people he has never met, feel abandoned and neglected!
4. Oldie but goodie (I just recently found this out). Some teen girl who lost a lot of weight went on some Korean TV show and got a hug from a member of SuperJunior (a Korean boyband with way too many members, none of whom I can distinguish from the next). That pic appeared on-line and the fans of SuJu (known as ‘Elves’) apparently sent the girl hate mail, threatening voice-messages, and similar harrassment. The girl killed herself.
5. Yamapi got stampeded by crazy fangirls in the airport. I mean, literal stampede. WTF? But deeply amusing.
IV. "What this show doesn't understand is that a male's sexuality is SACRED!! It's a GIFT! A gift from GOD!! Or from the Flying Spaghetti Monster. I forget. Anyway, exploiting it is a sin against nature, and the people who worked on this show should be ASHAMED!!"

Go read them. NOW.
if you have ever seen Firefly or Serenity.
I laughed so hard I felt ill.
Also, I will never be able to call Mal anything but 'Magical Flower' now.
V. So, in addition to starting on Vampire Knight (watched first ep raw since I read the manga), I also watched and loved the first, subbed, ep of Itazura No Kiss (It Started with a Kiss) anime. The story is just as amusing as in the drama, but somehow is less OTT when animated :P
I bring you screencaps! And commentary. :)
Our Heroine. Pushy, cheerful, not a genius and animated very cutely. In fact, the animation style is a little bit of an updated, retro take on mid to late 1990s animation style, which I rather like (I love a lot of anime from back then) and also rather appropriate for an anime based on an older manga.
Pretty:
Heroine:
Hero:
The guy in Heroine's Class F who likes her. I can't remember Japanese versions of the names yet, so I'll just call him Ah Jin, as he was known in ISWAK drama:
Who do you think the OTP is? Hmmm? Any questions? :)
He rejects her love letter:
Heeee.
Once again, I like the art style:
With her friends:
She is such a dork but I love her:
And now she reminisces about how she first fell for the guy. At school assembly, she thought he was going to look like this:
But he looked like this instead:
Resulting in this:
LOL:
End of flashback. I like the mirror-shattering shortcut/gimmick:
So, what are your thoughts on yaoi? :P
Ah Jin character cracks me up in the anime too:
For comparison, here is the OTP in the Taiwanese live-action:
I am definitely keeping up with this one.
VI. Powerful Opponents starts next week. And I made a couple of caps from the bit from the drama they showed at the press conf. Yeah, I have no life.
First meeting of Lady Bodyguard and the guy she will have to guard. She isn't hired on yet (I think) and doesn't recognize him either, as he looks like something the cat dragged in. After ten other cats rejected him for too much skuzziness:
LOLOLOLOL. You go, girl! I think he said something not nice and even tried to light up a cigarette! :P Also, is he wearing a school uniform? *goggle*
I am glad to note she wears appropriately 'security person' clothes here, unlike in the promo shoot:
With other bodyguard:
7. Also,
You Belong in Generation Y
You fit in best with people born between 1982 and 2001.
You are cooperative, flexible, and adaptable.
You know the world changes quickly, and you're eager to change with it.
You are socially responsible, forward thinking, and open minded.
What Generation Do You Belong In? Hmmm. I was born a few years before the cut-off, but seeing that my mental age is five, perhaps this fits.
