I made a master list of my 20 favorites some time back (it needs to be updated because since then I discovered my second fave drama, The devil (Mawang)).
I don't have one. I've been watching a lot and enjoying it, but nothing has really, really grabbed me yet! I'm currently still watching Que Sera Sera. But Legends is next. :)
Well nobody's more dysfunctional than Tae Joo...that guy has ISSUES. Lucky for him he's also insanely hot. I'm most sympathetic toward JoonHyuk, who seems like the nicest out of all of them. I hope he doesn't turn out to be nuts or something. (I'm through ep. 8.)
If you like dysfunctional leads btw, check out Something Happened in Bali (Memories of Bali/What happened in Bali). I adore the male lead to bits, but he's got tobe the most dysfunctional lead I've ever seen. QSS is like a more cheerful Bali :)
Yeah, you're right. I think I just generally lean toward humor/action as the top layer, with romance/angst underneath.
Trigun was the first anime I ever watched, so it has a special place with me. I was unprepared for the awesomeness of the genre, and Vash just totally stole my heart! Adorably silly badass. (Not to mention Wolfwood.) Did you hear there's supposed to be a Trigun movie coming out? Not for a while, obviously, but I think Nightow said he's done with the script. Yay!
alexandral keeps pointing me to your LJ for kdrama recs...this looks awesome! Wow, so pretty. So, thanks for that I guess! Off I go to hunt it down.

Is that a Trigun icon?

Yes, it is! Vash is one of my favorite characters, ever.
