Itoshi Kimi E: I have reached the irrational shipper stage
OMG.
I just finished ep 8 of Itoshi Kimi E and
oh oh oh OH.
Ryoko must die. DIE. Fine, she ditched her fiance when she found out he was going to go blind. Then, month or so after, she changed her mind and is all 'I want you back' (does she really think a man would still love her after what she did?????) and when Shunsuke tells her 'I have someone I love' (EEEEEE!) she is all 'that girl can't take care of you the way I can because I am rich blah blah.' STAB.
Fine.
Whatever.
But then he is having one of his horrible attacks, when he can't see, and has been like this for three hours, and he thought he talked to Shiki and then the door rings, and he opens the door and he is "Shiki?' and it's Ryoko and she is hugging him silently because she wants to take advantage of his blindness and I want to KILL her. KILL her. Please tell me she isn't going to drag him to bed. STABSTABSTAB. Because he isn't used to blindness yet enough or even has been with Shiki long enough to be able to distinguish just by touch.
And taking such horrible advantage of someone so vulnerable is so DESPICABLE.
I want her to be run over by a bus. Back and forth.
In other 'you annoy me' news, Dear Shiki's Friends and Family. You are nice and all, but come ON! Shiki is 27, she is certainly old enough to know what she wants. If she wants to date a guy who will go blind, it's her own freaking business and not yours. Piling up on him is NOT allowed. Yeah, yeah, try to guilt him into leaving her, that will be great. NOT. Yes, I think I have reached the utterly blindingly irrational shipper stage.
Because OMG, Shiki/Shunsuke are one of the most awesome OTPs in the history of jdrama. They just work together. And I love that she knows what's ahead, really, but she can keep not only her spirit up but his. I love the whole bit where he is 'how can you want me, even God abandoned me' and she is all not wallowy back but snarks that 'even if God abandoned you, you have such a great catch by your side.' And he grins and there is teasing and awesomeness.
Btw, Fujiki Naohito? Has the world's most gorgeous smile. His whole face transforms.
Oh, and eeeeee! When he kisses her, he has to bend almost in half. It's the most awesome thing ever.
But the scene that killed me dead the most was when they were somewhere out of town, and he decided to go all the way back to Tokyo with his eyes closed, to 'practice.' And OMG OMG OMG he was so vulnerable, and she slipped her hand in his, and she became his eyes.
I might, or might not, have bawled like a little girl.
Also, I have to say it takes a lot of guts for Shunsuke to tell Shiki's father upfront about his condition. He rocks.
I have to say, I know they are trying to put the most positive spin on the blindness thing, but sorry, it's still horrible. In my AU, there is a new cure in a few years and he gets his eyesight back.
ETA: No Ryoko sexing. But she goes instead to Shiki to tell her to ditch Shunsuke because, according to her, Shunsuke wants her, Ryoko, but 'you know how gentle he is' so he won't ever say that to Shiki. According to Ryoko world, that is. UGH DIEDIEDIEDIE.
ETA2: Nonononono. Argh. Stop being noble and self-sacrificing, Shunsuke, before I reach into the screen and smack you! He is so going to leave her, isn't he? Because she is temporarily giving up pediatrics for him and because he doesn't want to burned her. NOOOOO. Stop. NOW. Thanks. Oh, this drama is good at making me emo. But he is so scared and so good.
But I am glad to announce her Dad gave blessings. Yay.
