What is KNI? Based on a novel by Yamazaki Toyoko and starring my favorite drama actor, Kimura Takuya, KNI deals with the rich, influentual and poisonous family famous in Kansai finaical circles. Set in the late 1960s, the story depicts the rivalty between Manpyo Daisuke (Kitaoji Kinya), a powerful banker, and his eldest son, Manpyo Teppei (Kimura Takuya), the executive managing director of a steel firm. For some reasons, Daisuke seem to dislike his own son and as Teppei seems to find out the reason for Daisuke's hatred, his whole life is turned upside down with fatal consequences.
I've heard amazing things about this one, and I adore Kimura Takuya, but I know the ending is supposed to be heart-breaking.
