yes, so, i can't even find the logic in that(on their part, of course)

And don't forget...the parents who influenced the kids...they should be held at least equally responsible...

If you believe your religion (general "you"; any religion) is so weak that someone who NAMES A TOY BEAR after someone you consider holy must be killed to protect it, then perhaps it's your whole damn religion you should be rethinking.

It's no excuse, but Terry Gross was interviewing a Muslim journalist who explained it something like this: Normal Muslims would understand the context, but these people who are freaking are so ignorant don't know what a teddy bear is (i.e. a toy that children love, so naturally they would want to name it after someone they also love). They think it's just an animal, and so insulting.

That, of course, is no excuse. I'm with the people who say you can't have much respect for your own religion if you think it can be demeaned so easily. I just hope the Sudanese officials make it possible for the British to get her the hell out there unharmed.

Hmmm, teddy bear thing makes sense, but still...come on!

Exactly.

thats just wrong.... and its weird for me to say something about this since i am reading an article about the clash of civilizations, and it basically talked about instances like this...

and seriously its just a bear let it be named whatever.... and it just makes it more visible the hate and prejudice when children are taught to hate or think a certain way....
