Getting better, but still don't know what's going on at the table. I still haven't got a clue what is or is not considered a han, which pretty much says I don't know if my hand can be used to win or not. Not that it stops me from trying. :p

I'm now wondering if the Japanese mah-jong rules are the same with the Chinese ones because the tiles are exactly the same XD

( I still think 3-person mahjong is the most fun though XDD )

Japanese rules are quite complex, basically you cannot call mahjong unless your hand is actually worth something. Also it has that ricchi stuff (hence why it's called ricchi mahjong) where you have the balls to say you'd win with your current hand and just wait for other people's discards/draw without revealing your hand.

My brains can't even attempt to store the winning combinations for the 10k+ points wins. Whenever I get hit by that, I'd start a new game, sobs sobs. T_T

Ugh okay that is totally different from the mah-jong I know ( but then again, I'm no good with 4 player mah-jong ) I grew up watching my family play 3 players mah-jong that without them actually teaching, me and my brothers actually gets all the rules ( though I have no idea how to count whether my hand can be used to win or not XD;; )
