THE HOUNDS OF LUFF ARE CALLIN'

Mar 21, 2007 23:57

So it's 11:57 and i'm sitting up, drinking Bigelow's Sweet Dreams tea, and i'm going to keep listening to music till I wanna go to sleep.

Really feeling the music lately.

First track - Hounds of love - futureheads
I've never actually heard the kate bush version but this cover is flawless. It was great at pitchfork last year, and it will be great every other time I ever hear it.

the hounds of love are always callin.

ugly cassanova time

i've been listening to this a bit over the past day. Love Isaac Brock, love Modest Mouse, love this sideproject. I wish modest mouse had gone more in this direction than the last two records even if I do like both of them too, but whatever.

I'll skip around a bit on this album during my evening tea, but track 1, barnacles, is about as good as it gets.

"I was talkin like two hands knockin like, let me in, let me in, please come out."

Skipped to track 4, Hotcha Girls. Really, really pretty.

I'm not even sure Brock sings on half of this track but man, what a lovely little song.
"Glass eyes and wooden teeth, engines rustin' in deep blue seas..."

After the 28 second 'no song', is Diamonds on the face of evil.

Creepy Brock at his best.

Love the sound of shuffling feet and the finger picked guitar.

SHE SHAW SHE SHAW

CAT FACES now.

this is my jam, the last two nights.

I always liked it, but it is just completely hitting the spot and it makes me feel so alive. Songs like this make me wish I had any sort of discernible musical ability. I don't, to be clear. But it would be nice.

what's a southern range?

next album!

walkmen - 138th street

on the parkway tonight, you can hear my engines roar. the flashing lights will nab you when you're drivin your way home.

it feels just like it sounds.

i'm going to continue this listening without the writing though. i'm getting sleepy and i want to zone out.

goodnight lj.
