Oh wow that's fantastic!! Congrats! I actually couldn't figure out why you were announcing your new position so casually at first. But yeah, I would try not to let your parents bother you with this. I'm surprised because I thought they would be very excited for you- and it's only for a year. Plus, not many college graduates ever get much of a break in their intended field (I actually haven't yet either), and some NEVER do. If we were still living in IN my parents would understand that going into a particular field, it maybe hard for Indiana to just quickly offer you a great position and so close to home.

Other than that, Texas is Texas. But I think it will really open up doors for you later on by the sound of it. Just think of it kinda like studying abroad. ^_^

I was actually waiting to hear back from the the Dept. of Interior- Office of the Inspector General for an Evaluator position I interviewed for last week. I have a 2/6 chance of getting it and they really lead me to believe that they liked me alot and wanted me, and would have let me know by the end of last week. The pay, location, and job responsibilities were perfect for me, but maybe oh well. But I'm glad I read your post because it kinda gave me a bit more hope and inspiration that maybe something will come along soon. ;-)
