A few weeks ago, I had bought this Suave lotion that had cocoa butter and shea in it. We're really dry at work and I don't like the lotion they have in teh guest rooms - too greasy. Anyway, it has that faint chocolate smell to it from the cocoa butter. And its been driving me nuts for weeks because I know know know I had a toy that smelled exactly like this lotion.
And lo and behold my dearies, I found her!
Well not among my posessions. Most of my childhood toys were tossed into the goodwill bin at my dad's insistance. So there is more room for HIS garbage and crap. Yesh.
Anyway, it took a few searches through google images but I found what I was look for - The Cupcakes by Tonka.
The Cupcakes were these dolls that instead of having legs, had a skirt made of heavy duty rubber. She had a little dress you can use to cover her up and a hard plastic "hat". When you turned the skirt up, it hid the doll inside and you would put the hat ontop and she would turn into a cupcake. Of course the hats are usually the first thing to go. But it was always great fun to flip the skirt up and turn her into a cupcake.
Anyway, they would have a smell to them and of course this one was chocolate and THAT is the toy I'm thinking of. And thanks to ebay, I was able to find the exact doll I had as a kid! See:
I think I might still have that top skirt. Its probably with my barbie clothes and is on some itty bitty doll that was nekkid before hand.
One mystery down, another to go. What the hell did I own that smelled like honeysuckle?!
