Come One, Come All!
               2006 Fairy Lights and Sprites
               Only at Minnetrista!

So, I'm volunteering for FLS this year.  I'm super excited.  They pretty much died of happiness when I stopped in last Tuesday to chat.  Sandi was so excited that I wanted to help out.  They needed a carnival crier for the "Fairy Museum" and they felt I was perfect.  Loud and Obnoxious?  Yeah, I can handle that, LOL!  FLS is July 7, 8, & 9 from 7 to 10p ($4 for students!), and the Enchanted Masquerade is July 6 ($25 person/ $40 couple and is 21 and over).  I am working every night but Friday, however I'm trying to get that time off so I can do that last night.  They might have someone available (a 10 yo), but I'd like to do it, simply because its gonna be so much fun.
Tayna, myself, and three others headed over to the Civic theatre (which is performing snippets from Rumplestiltskin) to pick out costumes.  What a disaster.  They have no organization in their costumes and the poor interns spend their time trying to find everything.  Luckily we found some great stuff.  I was sent to the hat room to hunt out a safari hat for our Prof. Trotter (check), a garden style hat for our gardener (check), and find myself a top hat (no such luck).  Kate does have a top hat she's lending me, though, so I'm set there (check).  I actually found a red jacket with gold buttons and braiding (a military style jacket, but it is SO perfect for my ringmaster role) in the men's room.  It actually fits pretty well (surprise!), but its made of heavy wool.  I'll have to wear a tank-top underneath to keep me from chafing and prevent me from roasting my ass off.  I'm pretty stoked.  I want to get lots of pictures.  Seriously, ever so much fun!

So I have no internet at home.  Dria didn't pay the bill and we got shut off.  I was actually pulling off Apt. 106 for a few days, which is a surprise because I can never get a hit off of them.  I can't get them now, so Dria needs to send Comcast a check for something so I can surf the net (she's close enough to pull of the neighbors).  I use Wikipedia A LOT for my H202 study guides since I don't have a book (cheap ass) and the tests are pretty much based on these study guides.  Plus, internet is the only way to communicate with some people.  :(  I feel disconnected.

FOR THE FOURTH!!!  I totally get the day off, there are fireworks over at the fair ground/minnetrista, and I am totally going to see them.  People are shooting off their own fireworks and Banta showed me his stash.  You'd think he would have had enough with the fireworks and bombs in Iraq LAST year, but noooo, he's such a man and is all giddy.  I think he's as pyro as myself.  I don't have the money to spend on firework, but if I did, I'd get sparklers.  Cause they totally kick ass.  One year, we had gone out to Uncle Jeff's house (actually, he's not my uncle, but he is my godfather) and we were shooting off fire works and such (we had a great view of Dyer's fireworks from his backyard) and I remember we had this bucket of water to place used sparklers in so we would set anything on fire or burn ourselves.  I had a used (metal) sparkler that I tossed in, but it went in handle side.  So without thinking, I reached in a grabbed it and burnt my hand because the sparkler stick was metal and hot as hell.  Yeah, not too smart.  But dammit, those were the days- kids these days have wooden sparklers, where the hell is the fun in that?  The metal is what made the sparkler so damn cool!

21 Days until I get to go home!!!

4th of july, fls, home
