Vid rec and potential movie rec

Aug 30, 2009 11:14

I have internet at home!!! After two weeks of horrible isolation! I'm so behind at vid-watching and flist-reading that I despair of ever catching up. And VVC! That I didn't get to go to because I was moving to the new place without internet. Also, I've had too much coffee!

For my first attempt at making a dent in the reccing I want to do: watch sweetestdrain's Naughty Girl, a wonderfully cracky vid for the awesome Excalibur. I own this movie on VHS, people. I remember watching it with my sister when we were kids and being all ooooh at the naughty bits. As much as I love this vid, 10-year-old me would've loved it even more.

And, like every other '80s movie, Excalibur is being remade. This blogger wonders why Bryan Singer is bothering to attain the rights:

"[I]t seems weird that you'd need the rights to remake Excalibur. Isn't the plot straight-up Arthurian legend? I'm pretty sure you could remake Excalibur and just not tell anyone you've remade Excalibur and, unless you used the exact same script, probably no one would call it out."

Okay, so this is like wanting to make your own Arthurian legend movie but being too lazy to come up with anything new, so you just rip off someone else's remake. On the other hand, I really want to see if Singer will keep Mordred's sparkly gold armor.
