46 Days to Go!

Sep 03, 2008 12:56

Okay, this countdown is based on my original guess of due date, which was October 19. The doctor's office says the due date is October 23. So, either way, Willow is supposed to arrive the fourth week of October. We'll see what she decides to do.

The new doctor's office is so much better! It just feels better there. I feel like the things that joelzero and I want out of the birth will be respected, and I feel like we have allies rather than "authority figures" in charge. I have always wanted to have a midwife attend the birth of my child, and the one we met with yesterday said that all of the midwives there have the same philosophies on childbirth. Now we need to call the hospital and change the doctor that they have on file for us. We also need to change our birth plan and get it to the office.

I was told to start counting kicks. Apparently I should feel at least 10 to 12 a day. I stopped counting today at 20.

Something else that was good about the meeting with the midwife yesterday was that I didn't get lectured about gaining weight. She said she had no room to talk about gaining weight, but that I should just try to cut down on refined sugars because she doesn't want to see me all sad at the checkup at 6 weeks after. That was more refreshing to hear than, "you're gaining too much weight!" I am a petite Viking, a mini-Amazon Woman...I am large anyway. I have already accepted the fact that I will be large at this time in my life and I'm fine with it. I plan to choose healthy foods so I can model healthy eating for my children, so I'm thinking that things will look good as time goes by.

I also need more iron, so I will have to be sure to eat more green leafy veggies and dried fruit. I have been a bit slackery about eating the green leafies lately, so I will be making sure to take care of that.

The right hip has been stiffer of late, and my lower back on the left tends to get inflamed. The goo that my chiropractor had me get has been awesome with keeping the inflammation in the back down.

Work is almost over! Yay! I really am looking forward to getting more sleep and making sure our space is ready for the baby. I had to get up at 4:30 this morning to get to work so I can get out of here at 2:45 so I can go help chevyanna's mom with some Quickbooks stuff. I have been pretty drowsy since about 9 this morning.

My friend came over during the weekend and took some pics and I need to go over to his place to get a few more taken, but I haven't been able to reschedule after yesterday fell through. I'll have to call him later on today.

Anyways, I need to get going. Work calls, again.
