Today I fell in love with a cookbook. It has the most amazing vegetable recipes, arranged by growing season. There's an element of autobiography (very trendy right now, I think, but I'm still a fan). There are cool facts about vegetables and plants. Reading the tomato recipes makes my heart ache. There are months left before they are in season, and that short span is the best part of the year. Now if I only had enough room to grow a freaking huge garden...

I'm pretty keyed up, excited, happy. I don't want this day to end. It's 11 pm, but there's so much left I want to do.

Tonight I roasted some fresh green beans with olive oil and coarse sea salt, and then I cut up my newly purchased fresh pineapple. Excellent.

I am finally willing to accept that the salad spinner is not a unnecessary invention. Mostly because now I want one. And a garlic press. Maybe a rice cooker too. Oh, and a silpat pad for baking.
