Everything always changing and flowing, at the whim of inevitable evolution. We're all molded, reshaped constantly by the flow of time and biological, psychological, cultural change.
It's been difficult to write in livejournal lately for that reason. As soon as I have an idea or feeling, something to write about, my position shifts making it an unsuitable topic. These ideas, from their mental apparition to the eventual typing on the keyboard, loses it's meaning. In the time I've started to type I've already become a different person in a whole new moment in time, my psychological state anew.
The same reason why it's been difficult to write in livejournal is why I never got a tattoo. Nothing is constant, and the freedom to flow and evolve as an individual is beautiful and healthy. Although, as humans we have an innate desire to solidify our existence, we must evolve personally to keep up with the evolution of our culture. This is not to say those with tattoos cannot have evolving meaning behind their body art, but for the sake of analogy I use tattooing as an example of solidifying a point in one's life.
So what is the point in freezing yourself in a state when, in short time, you'll be somewhere, someone completely different?
I believe its the importance of experience and a personal story. The virtue of the human spirit is it's ability to record it's existence during this inevitable evolution. Yes, we're all molded and reshaped constantly by the flow of time, sometimes making existence seem pointless, but to record and respond to our past experiences, whether they may seem like mistakes or not, allow us to improve our current state of existence.
Past experiences are more valuable than anything material. To look into your past and not only realize your advancement, but to utilize that experience to lead you toward a more rewarding future is what living all about. And that's why livejournal, and all those who write in it regularly, are way fuckin' rad.
