Title: From Afar
Pairing: broken! YeWon; implied KangSung; Kyumin if you squint
Rating: PG- 13
Genre: Angst
A/N: I'm really starting to buy Yewon. I guess it's sorta like a stream of consciousness where I just piled all of Siwon's thoughts onto paper and tried to make it work. Told in Siwon POV (as if it wasn't obvious already). Comments make me smile; no comments make me frown; I hope the Siwon fans don't kill me if he's written poorly. :)
All you could do was look at them from afar. Your throat cringing at the dryness as you couldn’t salivate. Everything he did you made a mental note and you would write it in here.
You cherished him like the jewel he is, pampered him with everything he wanted. But in his eyes only he existed. Who were you? You were just a close dongsaeng. You would cry over it and complain to Sungmin hyung or Kyu… the latter not caring much and the former merely nodding and offering platonic words of comfort. You asked them about how they found each other… the latter tensed up and muttered incoherent words while the former blushed and changed the topic.
You were confused. You had too many questions and things just didn’t work out.
It just didn’t make sense. He was moody, impulsive and loud, all the things he disliked, yet your baby cloud never showed the slightest hint of discomfort, let alone annoyance, toward his behaviour.
It wasn’t as much that you were jealous of the bastard for having him. Jealously didn’t even play a role in this. You just wanted an answer. Answers to the burning question in your heart, your empty vacant heart as you silently wait for him afar.
Yet he, the drunkard he is, managed to captured his heart. You were younger, stronger, more handsome, richer, more charismatic… what did he have that you don’t. You actually treated him like a lover, a close friend, a soul mate…
Your heart whelped in pain whenever he tortured your baby, be it on or off stage. To you it seemed like torture, your eyes shutting tight to block the tears screaming to roll down your cheek, holding your breath until your lungs felt like they were about to burst, your scrunched up the hem of your pants until they creased and folded in bizarre patterns.
But is it still torture if your baby was smiling and laughing whenever the bastard punched him or made fun of him. Were you just being over sensitive? Were you just torturing yourself?
Who are you kidding? Jealousy wasn’t part of this? Jealousy is fueling your soul as you scribble this into your diary. Jealousy is what makes you angry at
Maybe you should learn to wake up someday, and when you re-read this you will realize how much of a fool you are. Falling for someone that shows no interest in you. Doting on someone that already displays interest in another person.
Unrequited love. We’re in the 21st century now. Maybe it’s time to wake up now Siwon. Wake up from this dream, this nightmare in disguise, before you fall in deeper.
You will read this again Siwon, just before you get married as you walk down the aisle. And you will realize you had never forgotten about him, your baby cloud, your one and only. You will cry and she will offer you comfort as you break down in front of her.
You will realize you still love him. And there’s nothing you can do about it.
Siwon closed his diary as he placed his pen, the pen that Yesung had given to him last week for Christmas with the words Choi SiWon engraved on the side, on top of the black cover. A tear splashed down beside the pen as it bled into the cover, soaking the cardboard paper as another tear splashed beside it.
