Seohyun went over to the nap chart and began filling in the times.
“Sungmin, slept at 1:10. Donghae, 1:05. Eunhyuk…” Seohyun tapped her mouth with the brown pen, “1:05. Yesung is resting.”
Seohyun looked over her shoulder and saw Yesung gazing up at the ceiling, his head resting on his turtle stuffy as he breathed lightly, his chest heaving up and down. His sparkling eyes seemed out of focus as he stared at the watermarks on the ceiling. Seohyun doubled checked the three Lee brothers as well. Sungmin was sprawled out on the cot, his pink blanket casted aside onto the floor. Eunhyuk was curled up into a ball as he slept near the foot of his cot. Donghae was curled up nice and tight, his blanket covering his whole body as he held onto his fish doll.
“Shindong.” Seohyun pauses at Shindong’s name. She, quite frankly, didn’t remember whether Shindong was sleeping or not. Her gut instinct told her that he was probably sound asleep, it was a rare occasion that Shindong did not sleep senselessly during nap times.
She turned around and saw Shindong sitting up on his cot, holding his sky blue blanket in his arms as he nibbled on his thumb. She was wrong.
“Shindong-ah.” Seohyun walked over and knelt down to meet the child. “Why are you not sleeping, is something wrong?”
“Hungwy.” Shindong frowned as he took his thumb into his mouth.
“Ohh Shindong.” Seohyun sighed as she offered her hand, pulling up the boy. “We’ll get you some crackers, okay?”
“Cwackah.” Shindong jumped happily and charged out of the room. Seohyun turned back to the time chart and continued filling out the boxes. “Kangin, 2:20. Heechul, god when did the…”
Seohyun scratched her head with the cap of the pen. She had completely forgotten about Heechul.
“Aish whatever.” Seohyun scribbled down a random time and capped it. She turned around and jumped up after a figure was staring at her.
“Seohyun noona…” Leeteuk held onto one arm of his bear, “can I have cwacker too?”
Seohyun nodded and took his hand as they walked out of the sleeping room, gently
Heechul rolled over in his sleep, muttering something about his hair and how he must not flatten it.
“One for DongDong and one for Teukie.” Seohyun handed each child a salted cracker. Leeteuk took it politely and bowed a simple thank you, whereas Shindong, on the other hand, took it greedily and began devouring the piece of carbohydrate.
Shindong suddenly began choking as he sprayed flaky bits out of his mouth. Leeteuk took a step back as Shindong continued coughing, the sounds more violently than before. His hands squeezed his bear tightly as he went over and hugged Shindong.
“Oh god!!” Seohyun gasped as she ran over to fetch his water bottle for him. She flipped open the lid and held it to his mouth. Shindong took a gulp with Seohyun holding the bottle, her other hand stroking her back as she eased the choking child.
“Khahtcchh, kahhtchhh…” Shindong coughed two more times before his body relaxed; the dry residue of the crackers gone from his throat.
“All better.” Seohyun patted his back as she led the two back into bed before Sooyoung or Yuri found out. After all, the kids weren’t allowed food after lunch time, but how can Seohyun say no to Shindong and Leeteuk. She could deny Heechul or Sungmin, because Yuri spoils the latter way too much already and the former acts like he owns the place. Occasionally guilty for her own bias, but Seohyun had a soft spot for Teukie. She couldn't help that Leeteuk was so responsible despite being the tender age of five. Besides, Teukie would put out fights whenever she and Sooyoung were arguing and left Yuri alone tending the kids. (She still insists that it was always Sooyoung's fault). How can she not admire that?
Seohyun ruffled Leeteuk's hair gently as she helped him with his blanket.
