"What A Creeper!"

Jun 28, 2010 20:38

To my knowledge, I've never had this been said of me. To my knowledge, anyways. But, I always overhear it being said about someone else or somebody I'm hanging out will say that about some stranger.

Okay, I know they're strangers but we were once strangers as well!

A guy will just look at a girl, and as soon as they pass by, you usually hear them say it. LIKE OMG WHAT A CREEPER

He. Looked. At. You.

You looked at him! Does that make you a creeper? And, then I'll hear all her friends chime in; YEAH YOURE RIGHT LIKE OMG I HATE IT WHEN BOYS DO THAT

It's almost as bad as when 'gangstas' or 'punks' call you a bitch for just looking their way. But, they actually call you out on it unlike the girls. I remember I had that happen to me on the bus not that long ago.

This black dude was sitting in a chair the wrong way, so if anybody sat across from him, it would look like they were staring right at him even though that was the only direction the chair pointed. I sat in it, and he kept yelling at me.

WHAT CHU LOOKIN AT BOI WHAT THE FUCK U LOOKING AT

I just asked him, "What are you so afraid of?"

He sucked his lips and looked like he was about to explode but he just got off the next stop on the bus.

Anyways, from my experience of always looking forward, I tend to make eye contact with girls a lot. I notice a bunch of them blush, or quickly look away embarassed. They don't seem to me that they're thinking in their heads 'HOLY CRAP HE MIGHT RAPE ME' ...hopefully not anyways.

I can see how it can happen though, eyes are probably the biggest factor in sexual tension. I remember reading an article in TIME or something, and they did a social experiment on 20 men and women. All strangers to each other and put them in rooms. Half of each geder were instructed to basically just stare at the other partner while just talking; while the other half was said to act natural. Each had 10 minutes to get to know each other. Just to reiterate, 10 men and 10 women were instructed to always make eye contact while speaking, and these same 10 were all put into pairs.

The results were that all the pairs that were instructed to keep eye contact the entire time, all felt strangely captivated and attracted to their partner. While the others were just mixed results.

Anyways, I'll try my best not to look like a rapist and you guys try your best not to call me one. Fair enough?
