Roughness and Science

We are kind of coming out of a rough patch we have been in lately. Betty has been fighting with an infection again. Grandma gave us a cancer scare. She has a blood condition that effects her white blood cells. It could turn into bone cancer but her x rays were clear. It is something they will have to monitor. Dad went through a scare at work but that has seemed to work out good too. They found a body in the river behind the hospital across from our house the other day. They think it might be a person who went missing close to the river awhile back. It is sad and kind of scary. Last night our power went off for about an hour. It made the alarm on Betty's oxygen machine go off. That woke us up. I tried to go back to sleep but that didn't work out well. The other day Joe brought home something his blood relatives had to do for science. He stuck one paper in my mouth that was plain. He then stuck another paper in my mouth. If was horribly bitter! He tortured me for science! They were testing for the taste gene for bitterness. I have it. I am a taster. Dad doesn't. He barely tasted the bitterness when Joe made him do it.
