thansksgiving
hi all, i'm hijacking my brother's computer so i guess ill post somethin
so we drove to michigan for thanksgiving to see relatives in case any of you didn't know.
CT - rain
Mass/NY state = snow/WIND
then a break
then heavy horrible windy nasty thick snow, horrendous driving conditions
hunger...hit a dennys in the middle of no where
drove into niagara falls at 3 am, totally losing my mind from the exhaustion from that bad drive
crashed in an ice cold room and iceblock bed...woke up, showered and ventured out into a differnt, sunny and bright (but still cold) niagara
went onto GOAT ISLAND (Yes alec) to see the falls, the mist from the falls froze onto every surface possible into big icicles, nuts
drove into canada....the canadians didn't even look at our IDs
that stretch of canada looks a lot like ohio...flat...farms...pass under bridges sometimes
passed a lot of winery's...as well as the labatt blue brewery
skies turned gray when we got within about 20 mi of the US....got pulled out for the "random secondary search" of the vehicle at the US border.....was pretty uneventful...lady went thru my stuff while we filled out a card stating that we are not carrying any soil or cell cultures or disease agents with us and are not carrying more than $10,000 cash with us...crazy
but ya, stopped at cracker barrel for a bite, then continued into the ever increasing bad weather in michigan...eventually got here to the Amerisuite hotel in livonia MI.
it's a pretty sweet place...2 ajoining rooms...2 beds each, bathroom in each, kitchenette, desk, loveseat and chair in the living area...the kitchen thing comes with plates/bowls, etc...nice!
it has an indoor pool...gonna have to hit that tomarrow sometimes i think....specially cause it's like 20 degrees outside.
but ya...thanskgiving was nice....we're all growing up..so there wasn't any kids running around, all enjoying the food and talking about school and such, parents talking about stuff, etc
watched meet the parents on TV with them, had some birthday cake for aaron, and went back to the hotel
gonna see katie/kelly hopefully on saturday...grab a pizza or something with them before we set out back to CT.
