Still sweating,
but feeling better today. I am so bored. I have been at home doing nothing all day. My mom came to get me last night at school. She had tried during the day to call my doctor's office and have me seen, but when she first called they said "Dr. Kearney doesn't get in until 11:30. She'll call you." Then when they did call her back she was in a meeting at work and couldnt answer. So she tried calling when the meeting was over and "Dr. Kearney is at lunch until 1:30. She'll call you back." Then we got a call at 7:30 from the office, not the doctor. I don't even know why they called anyway because it's not like they were open. But we were already on our way to the emergency room, so too little too late.
We waited like 2 hours before I finally was seen. The nurse came in asking what the problem was and I told him, so he pulled the little light from off the wall and looked down my throat and yelled "Oh, GOD!" That made me feel good.
Then the doctor came in about 10 minutes later and got out one of those huge popsicle stick to shove down my throat. I guess the little light wasnt enough because he put on the huge overhead light which totally blinded me. So he was telling me to say "aaaaaah" and I swear I was, but no sound came out. Anyway, he had this strange look on his face and asked my mom "Have you SEEN this?!?" Apparently there was an abnormal amount of puss back there. I guess that would explain all the little white blotches mixed with my green phlegm. (Sorry for being so graphic).
The tests came back negative for strep, so they drew blood for mono. ::fingers crossed::
The doctor also gave me a prescription for "Miracle Mouthwash" which is to help numb my throat. It actually doesn't taste too bad and it makes my mouth and lips and all tingly. I don't mind using it lol.
Yeah, so hopefully this will all just go away and soon! I missed classes yesterdaay and today. that's not real cool, but I had to try to sleep.
