Coffee shops are taking over the world. Nearly everywhere you go you can find a little place to get a cup of Java. Though I believe the roots of the whole experience has been lost. It started out at picturesque little Cafes in france. A place for people to meet sit and enjoy each other and their beverage with the tranquility of the environment.

Today coffee is all about getting and going. One of the biggest industries known to nearly every American; the infamous Starbucks. Walking in the adrenaline is impressing, watching employees create all different kinds of coffee drinks. Everyone's running around trying to keep up with their pace, not to make anyone wait and get their drink done.

My idea for a wonderful little coffee shop would be a comfortable one. A place where there are big comfortable couches and real mugs. To keep up with competition then there would be the standard drinks and to go cups. Though the atmosphere would be more relaxed. There would be a variety of music playing and a sign explaining if one type of music isn't desired then it can simply be changed. It would have very traditional Italian, French, and German drinks. This for the authenticity and the German charm of the Bavarian Village it's set up in.

Tourists come to the town constantly. They will literally fall for anything that says "Traditional German" which would be on a sign outside the cafe. People would come to enjoy some drinks and realize how great it is. Also there would be more local business, then tourists. People would tell each other to meet at a certain area. A market strategy I would use to get my name out would be to tell teenage kids. There really isn't a place for them to go and enjoy themselves in town, which would make my idea ideal. Students, locals, and shop owners would get a considerable discount. It would be an perfect location for homework, conversing and other healthy activities.

The structure of my company would be very simple. I would need to start out with around twenty-thousand dollars. I would pay seven-hundred dollars per month for rent, not including electricity and plumbing. Spend somewhere around ten-thousand dollars to put in machines required for business. I already have lots of different types of mugs and would be able to buy more from the salvation army. It would amount to buying supplies to somwhere around five-thousand dollars.I would hire one worker so we stay busy but not starbucks busy. Therefore I would have something like four thousand dollars not including profit to keep it running long enough to attract all different kinds of people.

Though it all sounds as if it might not work, there is a catch. The shop would open in the winter time. The time when people are coldest and most ready to find a nice comfortable little place to eat. A side idea would be to put heating pads in some of the cushions, and make one half the cafe warmer than the other. Then people could find places that they like personally. One thing I have learned in my job is to pay attention to each individual customer. We would always be open to ideas to improve.
