Challenge words: nervous, seize, sick, sweep, tread, zealous
Napoleon felt sick, and watching the Russian’s blond brows creep upward didn’t help.
“You can’t be … nervous,” Illya said incredulously. “I’ve seen you face bombs, bullets and zealous megalomaniacs without breaking a sweat.”
“True,” he swallowed, “but I’d prefer to keep this, ah, conversation between us. Did you sweep the room for bugs?”
“Of course. No one will hear your voice or the tread of your large, clumsy feet.”
“Ha-ha.” Napoleon knew his partner was trying to ease the tension, but ... “Okay. Here goes. Seize the day ….” He dropped to his knees and stretched out a shaky hand. “Nice kitty.”
