a girl scouty weekend

So on Friday I left La Jolla for Malibu ( where apparently it had been snowig in some places, ? ). An interesting weekend from the beginning. It took me 4 hours to get there, then I missed the turnoff (My fault, I was on the phone. tsk tsk) and spent a lot of time doing things I really shouldn't have, but its hard to just relinquish responsibility. I know I'm supposed to just chill but hell, I can't miss out on leading the Dinosaur song with Sue! I guess it will be easier to try not to take over as I get older and more removed. Spent a lot of time teaching girls their chores for the weekend in the dining hall. Rededication is such a nice g.s. ceremony, and scout's own too. It was nice to be back for that, seeing my old troop from the outside. Crazy how meaningful those little things seem now that I'm not around them all the time.

It was kinda funny how much like my sorority it is- all the girls, the occasional catiness, the green and white, people and responsibilities, ceremonies and people crying when its their last one. But some bad news...

~~~IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN TO COTTONTAIL~~~ :
Pepperdine University, who currently owns it, is trying to sell it to company thats going to level the place and put condos down, on a campground loved by many thats been there since 1958. Right now, it isn't zoned for condos, and if the people who care about it do something, maybe we can save a place thats got so many memories. I'll put up info as soon as I have it on who can be called and written to to stop this.
And in a bit I'll drop off Jenny at orchestra and stop by the theater rehearsal to see the folks before I drive down to school. good times.
