In case you didn't know, Stockton is a city in California. It's not pretty or sophisticated, and there's not much culture to speak of outside of campus (so far as I've been told). I'm here visiting my sister, who has an art show I've come to see. Nicky was supposed to come, too, but he flaked in his typical fashion.
Last night we ate at an Indian restaurant. It ended up being much less expensive than I had expected, and the food was so-so. I did have a sweet lassi, which was terrific. It was so tasty I could have drunk only that and I would have been pleased.
Years ago Lana and I made some home videos together. First was a Barbie version of Phantom of the Opera. Then we redid that, using more elaborate effects. Of course we had no budget, so it was pretty shoddy. We watched that last night with Lana's friend Leah, and I was stunned by how bad it was. We really had no idea what we were doing! But it was fun to watch, anyway. I think Lana and I have no real talent for making movies, but we are good at manipulating Barbie dolls.
Another of the videos was something I did for physics class. I discussed the principles of terminal velocity and air resistance. It was riveting, but easily forgotten. And there were the evil cooking shows my brother helped with. Looking back on my childhood, seeing all that budding evil, it only makes sense that I work for an evil corporation.
It all makes me wish I had brought a suit to Stockton.
