For a city that's supposed to be thriving and constantly evolving, returning to New York always seems to give me an overwhelming sense of familiarity. Of belonging, if you will. I don't want to leave, but then, I never really do. One more year of high school, that's what I have to keep telling myself. But it gets harder every year we come here. And harder still now that I'm not so sure future actually lies there.
I'm glad we've got a day to ourselves before competition starts - even gladder that we're not rehearsing for most of it. I plan to make the best of it. To all you first-timers: You're being set free in New York City - what's the first thing you want to do?
