The day after, I am very sore.
Fought last night in the Arrowsreach monthly tourny. It was a 90min challenge token tourny.
I started the night fighting cruciform, not a good idea. Died 3 out of 4 times. My main problem aside from it being the first time I have used this weapon combination, is that I thought you used the great sword the same way you use a shield. It appears that's not the case, as my left butt cheek will confirm.
Then changed to sword and shield aka barn door. I tired out way to quickly due to not training as often as I used to, I became sloppy and left too many opening. The kill rate was a bit better approx 50%. I know I need a smaller shield and I am working on one at the moment.
Marshaled for a bit then decided to use single sword and dagger.I think I have found my new favorite weapon combo. The kill rate with this was at least %90.I had a vast improvement in speed and maneuverability. I found the my entire fighting style changed.
Each bout one of 2 things seemed to happen, if my oponent was cautious then I would engage, and using both weapons I would press the attack until either one of us were dead. If my oponent was aggressive I would close and parry untill I found an opening and attack. I ocasionaly sacrificed an arm if it garenteed a kill on my oponent.
Overall I came 4th, not bad I think.
I found it to be a very entertaining style and I want to continue to use it further. Does anyone know any training techniques to improve it?
