"I saw a sunset and thought of you," Alexander says from behind her. He's leaning up against the wall looking generally pleased with himself and happier than he has been in years.

A blink, and then she turns to him, smiling. "I'm honored," she says, and stands up.

"You always reminded me of sunsets. At least when you got older."

A head tilt. "Why?" she's a bit curious. She likes sunsets, too, and it makes her feel honored.

"It's good to see you."

He shrugged. "I don't know. Both very fleeting and beautiful." he tilted his head in a slight bow. "It's good to see you too."

A bow is returned. "I do suppose the wanderlust never left me." she muses.

"It never left me," he said with a rueful grin. "So, how have you been?"

"The universe is coming along well," she says, as an afterthought.

"Well, considering what we are, do you expect anything else?" a little smile, and she looks out the window.

"Sometimes. Sometimes I wish for normality," he said looking out the window too. "But then it's like... I don't think I could handle normal."

"No," she says, softly. "I don't think we could. Neither of us. And besides, we'd just... not cope. We're not meant to be normal, I don't think."

The nebula thousands of miles away from the window looks elegant and almost like fluffy, like a cloud. Beautiful.

He sighs, "Remember when we thought we could be normal?"

She looks out the window, and shuts her eyes. "Yes. I just wish it hadn't ended the way it did."
