Camp is going really well, but it's all a blur accept for the funny moments. I think I have 5 more weeks? I'm not sure! I'm constantly busy, but I really liked when the staff had enough downtime to see if we could stack enough Crayola markers onto eachother to reach the ceiling. It was a team effort, and we came so close! Some of the markers fell on a beam, and there they stay...I think occasional boredom is what inspires Guiness World Records.
Gretchen and I made plans for Tuesday to meet up with Clair in the Twin Cities - but as we were walking down a street Monday night, I suddenly heard someone shouting my name. I turned around to find Clair in a car at a stoplight, shouting at me from out the window. YES, I have finally succeeded in randomly meeting someone I know in a strange place! Then we had a wine picnic on the roof of one of Gretchen's friends and met her neighbors. One guy kept flirting with me, and when it was time for Gretchen and I to catch our bus, he ran after us without shoes to say goodbye. Gretchen made fun of me for awkwardly shaking his hand instead of giving him a hug, but whatev...
For the first part of this week, I had really young kids (who all loved me, naturally). They wouldn't go to sleep the first night because they kept saying they heard meowing, so I lied and told them that there were kittens in the woods. This completely backfired when they kept looking out their window to see the kittens. I only found out last night that they thought that one of my co-counselors killing the kittens in the woods. OOPS!
Also, I want to a have a "fancy dress" party for my next birthday, because my Australian and British co-workers do this all the time. Fancy dress means anything themed (kind of like Greek parties, come to think of it). I think I'll have an M party - everyone should come dressed up as something beginning with an M. I'm excited for October now! Hopefully I have friends in China>_>
