Prom dress dilema

May 13, 2007 17:07

Stress is an ignorant state. It believes that everything is an emergency. Nothing is that important.

So I finally bought my prom dress which is a) a relief and b) very stressful.

You see I got to the store which had pretty lighting, tried on a dress, which looked good, and then bought if for way too much money. Then I came home to different lighting, tried on the dress, which looked...decent, and still cost way too much money.

Naturally I'm freaking out. Not to mention that when I asked my dad what he thought he said it looked "old ladyish". Geez thanks dad, it's only final sale and all that.

Ok so it had a lot of cuteness to it, big polka dots, the perfect length etc. It's going to look great when I eventually one day cut my hair short and wear big earings. The problem is that the straps are really thick and it's sort of high cut and...old ladyish.

Feel free to ignore the facial expression. Ok so I think it's cute, just nothing special you know? On the other hand that means that I can wear it to pretty much anything. What do you think?

In other news my grandparents saw my brother's hair for the first time since he dyed it.

Nana: You look like a girl, you look like a gypsy!
Papa: No he doesn't, he looks like a baseball player.

Where they got either of those images from is beyond me. Does it make me a bad person that I spent most of the visit making a list in my head of all the things I want once they die? They have these really great posters from bull fights, and the national ballet and such.

elderly mad, prom
