Oh America, you crazy crazy country

Get this, as of 2002 US Congress passed the American Service Members Protection Act, which gives the President the power to do essentially what ever it takes to protect American soldiers from jail, political prosecution, all that. In other words, a US soldier could be sitting in jail some where on trail for committing some crime against humanity, and the President can reach in and take them out.

Ok so that's ridiculous in itself, but what gets me is that this was passed by the US and not any international organization. The US government gave themselves permission. What's stopping them from giving themselves permission to kidnap and torture civilians? Oh wait, it's been done. But don't worry, it's ok because government says so.

It's like if I were to declare myself Emperor Kumquat and force you all to obey my every whim, because I said so.

Oh and because if you don't I have nukes, money, and of course, God on my side.

Isn't me procrastinating on studying for my politics test interesting?

P.S. This is also sorry excuse to show up my icon, points and maybe a couple 100 peace keepers to the person who can tell where it's from!

P.P.S. WTF where did Lockie go?

icons, politics
