Wish List

Nov 25, 2007 22:12

First of all, I did this two years ago. My link to the last list is here. Second of all, God answers some prayers in some ways! So for my #10 I asked for "a job I love (teaching ASL)" which is actually exactly what I'm doing. And I asked for it to be where I feel like God is calling me to live, and while I'm STILL here and living with my parents-- I feel like more than ever, this is where God has called me for this time in my life.

Step One

- Make a post to your LJ with a list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for Harry Potter on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your LJ to see who has posted a list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

- You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy.

- There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1) Something thoughtful. A card. An e-mail. A letter. Something that you put a little bit of time and effort into that lets me know you actually applied thought.

2) Yarn! I'm a bit of a fiend when it comes to crocheting now. I love cross-stitch still but it's a lot slower than crochet is for me!

3) Christmas music. Preferably pretty traditional or Christian artists. I love groups like Hawk Nelson, Skillet, Stellar Kart, Switchfoot, Third Day, and Relient K. My likes are listed on my Amazon which you can search at amazon.com and look under jenn-f@earthlink.com for the e-mail address.

4) I love tea! Specifically Celestial Seasonings teas. I'd love some of the herbal and other teas (like Celestial Seasonings Peppermint, Bengal Spice, and Black Cherry Berry. Also, Mint Green Tea, Devonshire English Breakfast Black Tea, and Parisian Mint Spice Decaf tea, and the Chai tea.)

5) Scrapbooking materials. Especially papers, die-cuts, stickers, and GLUE. I go through glue so fast it's pathetic.

6) Also, prayer! Prayer for God's provision for my family (with building a new house, moving grandma in with us, for moving... and everything that's going to change with that.)

7) Prayer for God to provide me with a job (and an internship so I can get experience for that job. As a paralegal. Preferably with the gov't. WITH BENEFITS) For health issues. And for continued relationship building with people both in and outside of the church groups.

8) Anything coffee related. I'm a Starbucks fan, though I know it's something that makes me somewhat unpopular with the friends of mine who hate Sbux. It's yummy. What can I say?

9) Anything you think I might like to read. Christian themed books are good. Stuff by C.S. Lewis, Gary Chapman, Max Lucado, and so on.

10) Donations to my hoped for internship place. Colorado Legal Services, Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado.

One more thing. I DO still live with my parents and Daddy was in the Army. He also keeps guns, somewhere. ;) No stalking allowed. And thank you for being wonderful Christmas elves.)

wish list, thanks, family
