Ahh... what a small world brisbane is.....

It is 7:30 & I was sitting in the lounge room watching an episode of Mcleods daughters with my mum, dad and my sister mishy. During the commercial break I stand up to fix myself another bowl of kellogg's Just Right, (we don't have ice cream in our house... so I eat cereal instead....)

My father takes this opportunity to quiz me about my life, as he usually does when he is over.
"So SJ; What's been happening" I shrug my shoulders "meh nothing much.... everythings pretty boring"
My mother buts in at this point.... "What happened with Mitchell?"
I shrug my shoulders again.... "yeah was alright, we ended up seeing the DaVinci Code, was pretty boring... I liked the book better" at this point I disappear into the kitchen for a few moments and return with my 2nd bowl of Just right.

"What's Mitchells last name?" My father asks
"shloman" I say as I forced a rather large spoonful of cereal into my mouth.

My mother looks up from her house and garden magazine....."Whats his father's name" she askes...
"I don't know mum, I haven't looked up his family tree... we went to the movies"

"Is his name Carl?" she askes again
at this point I decide to pick up my phone and ask mitchell himself.....

"Yes his name is Carl... Why?"

It turns out that back in the olden days, Carl Shloman and my mums Brother, Michael were best of mates...... Mum even went to her school Formal with Carl.

The funniest thing is... I have looked at this old formal photograph of my Mum and Carl many times...... laughing at the magnitude of his hair.... it was massive!!! .... unbeknown to me.... I would end up kind of "dating" his son.

I am constantly amazed how small a town brisbane is..... it really is Seven Degree's of separation!
