UPDAAAAATE (Fandom Projects)
HAI.
So, I'm discovering that, lately, my approach to LJ is just stopping by occasionally to create list-posts of everything I have on my fandom plate at the moment. Which, is a lot, lol.
FIRST though - I AM NOW MARRIED. MY WEDDING IS DONE, YAY! Haha. It was an awesome day, darn near perfect, and it was all around wonderful. I hope to share some pics and maybe some little stories from it soon, but I'll make that its own post. For now, have a FANDOM PROJECT UPDATE.
Unfortunately, I ended up dropping out of the spnhorrorbang. Timing wasn't good for me, plus there was an overabundance of artists, I guess, so it just felt like the right decision. Perhaps I'll try to play again next year! (Though, tbh, the genre itself does make me a bit wary - making a claim sight-unseen (or 'unread') on a horror fic makes me a lot more nervous than, say for a big bang. Because I'm kind of a big scaredy-cat XP)
In much happier news, I not only managed to complete my original idea for j2_reversebang, but I also managed to submit a *second* piece of art as well! And both pieces got claimed by two new-to-me authors, both of whom I'm very much looking forward to working with. My "Young & Dumb & In Love" piece of J2 in a wine cellar was claimed by the lovely jillmariej, who has excellent rom-com/possibly Christmas ideas for it; my "Wireless Connection" (which had a more specific prompt with it, so I was very nervous that it wouldn't be wanted) art of J2 on Twitter on their laptops was claimed by the awesome lotrspnfangirl who shares my love for college AUs, so I'm SO very excited to see what she comes up with! Hopefully I'll be as available as my authors need me to be - it's pretty easy to get overwhelmed with so much going on sometimes!
I was able to claim the movie I wanted for spn_cinema (Legally Blonde!), and I just added another 1.8k words to it last night, putting me over 3k so far - and with plenty of story left to go! My posting date for that is October 26th, so, if I keep trucking away at it, I should be just fine for finishing that fic and getting to share it with all of you.
It looks like I will be working to some extent with wind_storms and riyku on a discussion (or discussions) for the spn_writing comm. Our topic? Beta-ing! There's two sides to that of course, that of the writer and that of the beta, and we're hoping to get a pretty well-rounded discourse going.
Besides ALL of that (!!!) I have also signed up to participate in spn_j2_xmas (my first LJ gift exchange) and spn_reversebang. The initial idea I had for the SPN RB doesn't look like it'll pan out, but I've got a few other ideas up my sleeve. I think submissions for that are due sometime in October? (I will definitely double check that soon, lol.)
So yeah! I'm keeping myself crazy busy as usual! But I'm having so much fun collaborating with fellow fans, and embracing my creative side, so I don't regret one bit of it :) We should have the rest of our wedding pics by the end of today, so hopefully I'll share some of those with you this weekend!
